As a highly skilled Air Defense Artillery Soldier, you play a crucial role in protecting the Army's airspace from various threats. Your primary responsibility is to operate and maintain advanced surface-to-air weapons systems that provide vital mobile, short-range air defense protection.

The specific tasks involved include reloading and resupplying these systems, tracking and identifying enemy targets, and engaging them using the necessary procedures and protocols. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, situational awareness, and decision-making skills under pressure.

To excel in this position, candidates must meet certain qualifications and possess relevant skills. These include being a U.S. citizen, being between 17 to 34 years old, holding a high school diploma or equivalent, meeting specific tattoo guidelines, having no major law violations, being free from medical concerns, and possessing an eligible Secret Security Clearance.

Candidates who are successful in this role will undergo rigorous training and certification programs. This includes completing a 10-week Basic Combat Training course and a 7-week Advanced Individual Training program focused on air defense artillery operations. Additionally, they will have access to over 60 nationally recognized certifications and be required to achieve a minimum ASVAB score of 95 in the Operators and Food (OF) category.

Throughout their tenure, individuals in this position will develop valuable skills including but not limited to weapons operations, detection and destruction, and defensive operations.
