The Sales Account Manager is a customer facing role acting as the account owner or "quarterback" representing TC Transcontinental Packaging responsible for delivering budgeted sales and profitability objectives. They will uncover opportunities at new and existing customers and coordinate efforts across disciplines for project completion to grow sales revenues while managing all on-going existing business. They will utilize solid critical thinking and communication skills to build strong customer relationships and live out the TC Transcontinental values of respect, innovation, teamwork and performance.
This is a remote role with regular travel throughout the Midwest. Candidates must live near a major airport to accommodate travel requirements. We offer a competitive base salary with additional commission opportunities.
Responsibilities
When your actions lead to success :
- Achieve annual sales and margin targets for new business while maintaining and growing existing business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all buying influences within each customer, and leverage appropriate skills to understand customer needs, priorities, and drivers.
- Manage and oversee account planning, pipeline management, profitability improvements, and churn management.
- Facilitate collaboration and coordination between Sales Management, R&D, Marketing, and Field Service to support customer trials and validation.
- Keep management informed of competitive developments in the account base, including marketing strategies, pricing structures, or product performance.
- Secure and manage supply agreements and proactively promote product innovation and sustainable packaging solutions.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, reflecting organizational core values, and always maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Participate in business and industry events to connect with existing and potential clients and identify and provide intelligence on market and customer trends and opportunities.
- Seek out and participate in training and development opportunities to expand knowledge of flexible packaging solutions and sales techniques.
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, packaging, or engineering, or relevant work experience3-8 years of successful sales experience in the flexible packaging industry, with a focus on selling to mid-large CPG customersStrongly preferred : experience in the meat and protein packaging industry and previous experience in a manufacturing organizationRemote position with preference for candidates located in the Midwest regionStrongly preferred : knowledge of and experience with the printing and converting industry and equipmentProficient in PC-based software applications including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, and Sales tools such as SalesForce.comStrong mathematical skills, including basic accounting, spreadsheet ability, and basic problem-solving methodsDemonstrated critical thinking, logic, patience, reasoning, empathy, continuous learning, and developmentExcellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and visual management, and the ability to present comfortably to audiences both large and smallStrong time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and attention to detailAbility to effectively build and lead teams and to develop and maintain positive relationshipsContinuously seek opportunities to improve sales skills.When benefits really help you live better :
