Title of Role : Senior Engineering Manager, Home Lending

Location : United States (Remote, with quarterly onsite sessions in San Mateo, Columbus, or Austin)

Company Stage of Funding : Publicly Traded / Growth-Stage Fintech

Office Type : Digital-First Remote

Salary : $180,600 – $250,000 base + Bonus + Equity

This role sits on the Home Lending team , responsible for building and scaling the company’s newest business line — home equity line of credit (HELOC) . With millions of homeowners seeking access to home equity, this is one of the most impactful and fast-growing areas of consumer credit.

What You Will Do

As a Senior Engineering Manager , you will :

Team Leadership

  • Hire, coach, and grow a high-performing engineering team, with potential to scale into multiple teams by 2026.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative engineering culture.

Technical Leadership

  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of customer-facing products.
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability using best practices in software engineering.
  • Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to align technical direction with company-wide goals.

    • Stakeholder Communication

  • Partner with product, design, operations, analytics, compliance, and business leadership to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business and regulatory needs.
  • Communicate status, risks, and opportunities clearly across stakeholders.

    • Project Management

  • Manage project timelines, resources, and frameworks to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery.
  • Implement agile best practices and ensure continuous delivery.

    • Ideal Background

    Experience

  • 8+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in product-focused engineering.
  • 3+ years of management experience leading engineering teams.

    • Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience delivering full-stack solutions to customers.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architecture .

    • Leadership & Communication

  • Proven track record of building and leading successful teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

    • Other

  • Experience with agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.

    • Preferred

  • Background in fintech or consumer lending .
  • Experience scaling engineering teams during high-growth stages.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineering leaders.

    • Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary : $180,600 – $250,000
  • Equity & Bonus : Performance-based bonus + equity participation
