Advance your accounting career with Ascent Aviation as a Staff Accountant – Cost Focus . In this key role, you will be responsible for inventory accounting, including documentation, analysis, and recording and approving transactions in the general ledger. You will also prepare balance sheet account and bank reconciliations as part of the month-end and year-end close, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will support effective cost control, budgeting, and forecasting across our growing operations.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Manage cost accounting and inventory accounting , including documentation, analysis, and recording and approving transactions in the general ledger.
Track and analyze project costs , monitor variances, and ensure timely corrections and accurate financial reporting.
Develop and maintain project cost and schedule baselines , budgets, and forecasts in Excel or the ERP system.
Conduct monthly unbilled and deferred revenue analysis by project and revenue type.
Review contracts, billings, and project expenses for accuracy and resolve inconsistencies as needed.
Analyze monthly financial statements and month-over-month variances to ensure accuracy before publishing results.
Prepare financial and operational reports , including KPIs, cash flow analyses, and ad-hoc reporting for decision-making.
Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
Identify and manage month-end accruals and maintain supporting schedules for journal entries.
Perform accounting processes including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.
Prepare balance sheet account and reconciliations as part of month end and year end close.
Support Treasury functions and assist with monthly financial reporting and the annual audit process.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of work-in-progress (WIP) and ERP accounting systems, including project setup and maintenance in Quantum.
Work independently and proactively , maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail in all accounting functions.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
