We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in hematology-oncology to join our Regional Cancer Center team. This is a new position created to meet the growing demand for services and to further strengthen our mission of providing excellence in cancer care for Northern New Mexico. These services included : MEDICAL & CLINICAL SUPPORT Anesthesia Care Team our in-house anesthesia team is physician-led and supports with advanced cancer cases. Patient Navigation to help patients navigate the healthcare system, coordinate appointments, treatments & resources. Supportive / Palliative Care Medicine to provide symptom relief and comfort to aid in quality of life for patients & their families. Offerings include : massage, acupuncture, meditation, art therapy, reiki treatment and relaxation & stress management mindfulness. Genetic Counseling to assess hereditary cancer risks and help families understand genetic testing options. Naturopathic Medicine / Oriental Medicine to support the body, alleviate side effects and enhance overall well-being. EMOTIONAL & PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT Counseling Services to help our patients cope with diagnosis and treatment. Support Groups in partnership with the local cancer foundation Social Workers to help connect patients and families with community resources, support groups and wellness programs, as well as, psychosocial support to help address anxiety, depression & stress through therapy & coping strategies NUTRITIONAL & PHYSICAL WELLBEING SUPPORT Nutrition Counseling offering tailored dietary plans to support treatment & recovery Rehabilitation Services within our health system to restore function & mobility Exercise Programs to help maintain strength and reduce fatigue PRACTICAL & LOGISTICAL SUPPORT 24 / 7 Call coverage to offer round the clock support and information for patients, care-givers and family members Lodging Assistance in collaboration with the local cancer foundation for patients traveling for treatment SPIRITUAL & HOLISTIC CARE Spiritual / Emotional Support Chaplain-led to support patients seeking comfort and spiritual care. The Position : This position is clinic-based with a focus on benign hematology care, while also providing support for a broad medical oncology patient population. You will have the opportunity to work either a 4X10 or 5X8 work week schedule. Hours of operation for the Cancer Center are 8-5 M-F. You can expect to see approximately 10-12 patients per day and must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in patient care and clinical outcomes. Preference will be given to applicants with oncology care experience; however, we are prepared to train the most suitable candidate. Full-time availability is desired, though consideration will be given to those seeking slightly reduced hours.
