Location : Hudson, NY

Program : Columbia County Homeless & Housing Services

Type : Full-time / Non-Exempt

Pay Range : $22.06 – $25.18 (hourly)

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00am – 4 : 00pm and 12pm-8pm alternating w / flexibility required as needed

Position Overview

The The Case Manager, Galvan Homeless Shelter is responsible for assisting families / individuals who are referred to the Columbia County Homeless Family Program in maintaining their current housing, or in the case of being homeless, to ultimately find new and permanent housing for the family / individual. This position reports to the Director of Housing, Columbia County Homeless Services.

Position Requirements :

• Ability to work : Monday - Friday, 8am–4pm and 12pm–8pm (alternating) w / flexibility as needed
• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in human service field is preferred. Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
• At least two years of experience in case planning or case management.
• Previous experience working in a human services agency is a plus!
• Clean and Valid New York State Driver’s License; actively licensed for at least one (1) year with reliable transportation
• Above average proficiency in various computer applications : Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Business Workspace Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Meet, Sheets, etc.); and use secure Internet practices.
• A professional record of integrity, proven reliability, and dependability.
• A compassionate, positive, warm and caring mindset is highly desirable.
• Ability to work flexible hours, outside of scheduled work hours, when necessary.
• Flexibility to work hours outside of regularly scheduled work hours, within reason.
• Local travel is required; A current Clean and Valid New York State Driver’s License (actively licensed at least one year) - is required
• Familiarity with public assistance and other local resources; Knowledge of community resources is beneficial.
• Experience with MS Word and the use of secure Internet practice required; Excel and Google Docs preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team member.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both orally and in written form
• Self-motivated and engaged, with a strong attention to detail; Excellent writing aptitude.
• Demonstrates qualities of patience, flexibility and adaptability; and capable of exhibiting empathy for those in crisis.
• Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, and handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality.
• Able to complete pre-employment background check requirements, including CBC fingerprinting.
