Location : Galesburg, Illinois (zip 61401) – Illinois nursing jobs

Facility Type : Acute Care Hospital – Telemetry Intermediate (Stepdown)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 8 / 2025 – End : 3 / 9 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM), 3 shifts / week

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours / week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990–$2130

Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and holiday required

Unit Size : 26 beds

Patient Ratios : 1 : 4 or 1 : 5

Charting System : Epic EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or proof of application in progress

Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in telemetry, stepdown, or similar unit

Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)

Ability to float to similar units as needed

Experience with cardiac and respiratory diagnoses : CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy / brady syndrome, syncope

Must pass a drug screen (OSF is a drug-free campus)

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care to patients in the telemetry intermediate (stepdown) unit

Monitor cardiac rhythms and administer medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitroglycerin

Operate respiratory support equipment : Bipap, Cpap, HF / Vapotherm

Collaborate with hospitalists, advanced practice nurses, and other healthcare professionals

Document patient care and progress using Epic EMR

Participate in unit orientation and ongoing clinical training

Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and staff

Comply with hospital policies, including floating and weekend / holiday requirements
