We are continuing to grow, and are looking for a Solutions Architect.
While this position is a hybrid position requiring 2+ days per week in the office, we may consider remote employment based on a number of factors including candidate location.
The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing a technical solution in response to Requests for Proposal (RFP) specification requirements, as, well as SOW requests, and producing the technical content (the completed compliance matrix, diagrams, solution description, etc.) of a formal proposal. This includes developing and defining the system architecture / technical solution, defining the project deployment plan based on required engineering development, gathering, analyzing, and formatting information, writing drafts, ensuring compliance with the RFP, and seeking the appropriate approvals.
The Solutions Architect will work with the Account Manager and Proposal Lead from bid board to proposal submittal in determining the win strategy, as well as leveraging the Product Management, Deployment, and other departments as deemed necessary. In addition, where required, the Solutions Architect is responsible for leading the support of the definition of software and hardware development and interfaces for the proposed solution.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Reads RFPs, including technical requirements
- Assigns compliance matrix and sends to product managers for responses
- Responds to overall system requirements and reviews all product manager responses
- Captures costs, including requests for vendor quotes
- Performs evaluation of system alternatives and assessment of risks and costs, including :

Engineering and / or technical background (Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Engineering is preferred)4-10 years of related systems engineering experience preferredComprehensive knowledge of system architectural principles, methods, and techniquesWorking knowledge of communication technology and protocols including modems, routers, J1939, J1708, RS232, VoIP, Ethernet / POE, switches, etc.Network knowledge including WLAN, cellular, VPN, etc.Hardware knowledge such cameras, DVR, LED / LCD signs, etc.Public Transit / ITS experience a major plus, especially rail systemsExpert working in Microsoft Excel, and Visio, comfortable in Microsoft WordStrong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a comprehensive manner; ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize (Organized, timely, corporative, and analytical)Comfortable presenting to Senior ManagementExceptional written, presentation, interpersonal and communications skillsExpert in Excel, Word, Project, Visio, and PowerPointFamiliarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams preferredExperience with government procurement preferredAbility to travel when required, work late and work over the weekend on occasion to meet deadlinesKnowledge and / or experience with the following is preferred :IT architecture, infrastructure, and cloud developmentEngineering and software architecture designBusiness analysisProject and product managementStrong understanding of the transit industry and intelligent transit systems used on public transportationClever Devices is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
The compensation range posted for this position represents the anticipated minimum and maximum compensation for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The exact compensation offered will depend on several factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, training, education and / or physical location; internal equity; and, budget.
