In connection with a key client, we are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges and improving production systems that shape the future of advanced electronics manufacturing.
About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer , you'll play a key role in optimizing processes, improving product quality, and supporting production for cutting-edge electronic assemblies. You'll partner with design, quality, and operations teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with rigorous industry standards.
Location : Onsite Phoenix, AZ
Schedule : Full-time, standard business hours
Reports To : Senior Project Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for circuit card assemblies, electronic box assemblies, and ground support systems.
Program and maintain SMT production equipment, including screen printers, placement machines, and reflow ovens.
Translate complex engineering drawings into clear work instructions for production teams.
Design and model production fixtures using SolidWorks or comparable CAD tools.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma , and root-cause analysis methodologies.
Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, identify process inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and supply chain to ensure manufacturability and compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or closely related discipline).
3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
Expertise in process design, workflow optimization, and production systems .
Skilled with CAD modeling and manufacturing design tools (SolidWorks preferred).
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or continuous improvement frameworks .
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Aerospace, Defense, or Electronics Manufacturing (PWB / PCB / Circuit Card Assemblies).
Familiarity with IPC J-STD and NASA 8739 manufacturing standards.
Proficiency with SMT Pick-and-Place machines, reflow processes, and selective soldering.
Certification in Lean / Six Sigma (Yellow Belt or higher) .
