  • Travel to plant sites and fabrication shops for face-to-face interactions, estimated 10%.

The following is for this role:

  • An advanced degree, MS or PhD in Metallurgical, Corrosion Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering with a strong technical foundation in corrosion and materials technology. Candidates with an MS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry who have demonstrated proficiency in metallurgy, corrosion, and/or materials engineering will also be considered.

  • Industrial experience and in-depth understanding of the application of high-performance alloys in highly corrosive processes, along with proficiency in their metallurgy, corrosion damage mechanisms, and welding and repair procedures.

  • Strong experimental background in corrosion testing methods with the ability to design and implement lab tests that simulate complex plant corrosive environments/situations. Ability to direct and work safely in a variety of hazardous and corrosive environments is essential.

  • Strong interpersonal, networking and teamwork skills for leading and building consensus in multi-disciplinary teams for problem solving, developing a client base, and working well with all levels of Chemours personnel, including upper-level management, engineering consultants, lab technologists, and research scientists, chemists, and analytical personnel.

  • Flexibility and the ability to meet commitments in a timely manner are required as consulting efforts will vary from intense short-term laboratory testing and root cause failure analyses (RCFAs) to longer-term in-depth technical programs and field on-line corrosion monitoring.

The following is for this role:

  • Over five years of experience in the Chemical Process or related Industries is desired.

  • Knowledge of electrochemical techniques and various analytical methods for the evaluation of corrosion mechanisms.
