The Area Reliability Leader will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of equipment and processes within either the Dryer Department or the Fiberline Department.

Our Team

The Leaf River Cellulose Mill is a large paper plant, north of New Augusta, Mississippi. They produce filter grade pulp and market pulp, which is used in the manufacturing of coffee filters, vacuum cleaner bags, automotive filters, printing paper, tissue paper, and coated paper.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with the Area Leader, Production Coordinator, Gatekeeper, and technicians to build skill and capabilities of operations and maintenance technicians.
  • Lead and promote root cause analysis (RCA), capture, and categorize loss events, lead operator basic care, implement and advance equipment strategies using ASI and other proactive reliability tools.
  • Collaborate with the Area Leader, Production Coordinator, Gatekeeper, Team Leaders, and Technicians to drive out repeated failures and implement all aspects of the company’s reliability model to support the 8 elements of operational excellence and create long term value.
  • Collaborate with operational support team members, maintenance, and engineering to drive improved asset availability.
  • Maintain reliability data in the AA database.
  • Monitor and communicate key reliability measures, establishing additional measures as needed.
  • Develop scope of work for area and annual maintenance outages including Root Cause Analysis driven work.
  • Use the decision-making framework and critical economic thinking to develop and implement reliability improvement projects.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in operations, maintenance, or reliability a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience understanding the mechanical and dynamic behavior of machines and equipment
  • Process optimization and plant support experience (i.e., process troubleshooting, root cause analysis, process optimization)
  • What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering
  • Pulp and paper industry experience
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and PI
  • Supervisory experience leading, mentoring, and supervising direct reports
