Emergency Veterinary Technician Experienced ( Skilled Vet Assistant)
Location : Georgia Veterinary Emergency and Triage Services (GVETS) Watkinsville, Georgia
Job Type : Full-time / Part-time (Evenings, Weekends, Holidays required)

We are looking for skilled and motivated Experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician / Assistant to join our team. Committed to providing top-quality care for pets and compassionate support for their families.
What Youll Do
Perform triage and initial assessments and treatments on incoming emergency cases.
Assist with emergency cases.
Provide hands-on nursing care for critical patients.
Place IV catheters, administer medications, and perform lab work.
Assist veterinarians with emergency examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
Assist with diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, and surgical procedures.
Monitor patients and document treatments accurately.
Support pet owners with clear communication and compassion.
Communicate and help direct other team members
Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed.
Monitor and record patient vital signs, pain levels, and response to therapy.
Provide intensive nursing care to hospitalized and critical patients.
Technical Skills
Place and maintain IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and collect lab samples.
Operate diagnostic equipment (e.g., radiology, ultrasound, laboratory analyzers).
Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
Perform CPR and emergency resuscitation when required.
Client Communication & Support
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding patient status and treatments.
Provide emotional support to pet owners during emergency and critical situations.
Educate clients on discharge instructions, medication administration, and follow-up care.
Hospital Operations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment, ICU, and surgical areas.
Ensure all equipment and supplies are stocked and in working order.
Adhere to hospital safety, sanitation, and infection-control protocols.
Accurately document patient records, treatments, and progress notes.
What Were Looking For
Licensed / Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) or Experienced Veterinary Assistants is a MUST
Previous experience in emergency / critical care strongly preferred.
Ability to thrive in a high-energy, team-oriented environment.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and multitasking abilities.
Willingness and desire to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Strong technical skills (IV catheter placement, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, etc.)
Technical skills in emergency and critical care medicine is desirable.
