J ohanson Technology Inc. (JTI) is looking for a Visual Inspector (Thin Film Operator I) for our Camarillo, CA location. JTI has over thirty years' experience specializing in the design, manufacture and sales of high-quality Power and RF ceramic chip capacitors, inductors, and Integrated Passive Components into the global electronics market.

The Visual Inspector (Thin Film Operator I) will be responsible for visual inspection of capacitors, special and / or custom parts, and six (6) sided inspection of parts, at different stages of production to maintain quality of product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Visual inspection including i nspection of parts one by one under a microscope to remove defective parts that do not meet specified criteria.
  • Packing product using microscope, tweezers, and gloves.
  • Work area is to be kept clean and neat at all times.
  • Housekeeping chores will be performed as assigned.
  • Cross training for other jobs is required so that employees can occasionally fill-in other departments, when required, such as electrical testing
  • Additional or different functions may be assigned to the employee periodically.

Work Environment This job operates in a manufacturing / production environment. This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers and photocopiers.

Physical AND MENTAL Demands The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Use of microscope for visual inspection up to 90% of shift
  • Standing / Walking up to 25% of shift; Sitting up to 75%
  • Twisting of neck and waist up to 25% shift
  • Stoop and bend, reaching above shoulder, and simple hand grasping up to 90% of shift.
  • Fine hand manipulation up to 90% of shift
  • Lift, push, pull and / or move up to 5 lbs. for 50% of shift
  • Will occasionally work in fast paced environment and demonstrate adaptability
  • Must understand and follow a set of clear verbal and / or written procedures without deviation.
  • Must adhere to a provided work schedule to meet a set of qualitative production standards.
  • Interact with co-workers to complete tasks.
  • Perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism

    • Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time non-exempt position. Forty or more (40+) hours within a workweek.

    • Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least three (3) months of production assembling small parts
  • Production / Manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

    • Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous experience as a visual inspector
  • Experience using tweezer to inspect minuscule parts
  • At least (3) months microscope experience
