CSR’s Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC) provides high quality, culturally competent, linguistically appropriate, mental health services and support. Our services are community-based, individualized, strengths-based, and outcome oriented. This incumbent will perform assessments; formulate clinical diagnoses; provide individual, family and group counseling; collaborate with other agencies, family members and other relevant parties involved in the client’s care; provide consultation to CSR non-clinical and home-based clinical staff; and participate in research / evaluation activities to ensure the delivery of evidence-based trauma informed care and best clinical practices.
Responsibilities
- Assess / collect information about clients’ needs, abilities or behavior using a variety of methods
- Provide therapy and treatment to individuals, groups or families for difficulties relating to mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, addictions, social and interpersonal problems and challenging behavior
- Assess and provide interventions to families and children relating to school failure, conduct and developmental disorders and other interpersonal problems and challenging behaviors
- Provide strengths-based, solution-focused and trauma-informed care therapeutic techniques by utilizing applied research and, when appropriate, adding to the evidence base of practice in a variety of health care settings
- Work collaboratively alongside a multidisciplinary team of social workers, counselors, community behavioral health workers, psychiatrists, and psychologists.
- Participate as appropriate in interdisciplinary clinical team meetings to discuss reatment plans
- Develop goal-directed individualized treatment plans that address clients’ needs and implement interventions to meet those needs. Evaluate service provision and client’s progress on an ongoing basis. Services may include ongoing counseling and community psychiatric (home and school) support therapy when clinically indicated
- Provide consultation to other professions and encourage a psychological approach in their work. This includes meeting with collaterals to discuss therapies, treatments, counseling resources and techniques
- Collaborate with other agencies, family members and other relevant parties involved in the client’s care
- Refer clients to specialists or to other institutions for psychological testing and non-psychological treatment of problems
- Make appropriate referrals to other service providers to ensure that clients’ psychosocial needs are addressed and provide optimal post-discharge care
- Provide follow-up to re-engage clients who fail to appear for appointments or drop out of treatment
- Complete all documentation of services on a timely basis per applicable government regulation, company policy, and professional standards
- Participate in appropriate orientation and training opportunities to improve clinical skills and increase knowledge of applicable regulations Attend and participate in mandatory supervisory and staff meetings
- Other duties may be assigned
Requirements :
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field with 2 years’ experience in providing Behavioral health services to youth, adults and families. Experience in home-based or wraparound program models is preferredMust be certified in the Massachusetts CBHI CANSMust have a valid driver license without restrictions and have reliable transportationExperience in navigating individual / family-serving systems and experience advocating for family members who are involved with behavioral health systemsComputer competencyCompany Description
