Lead Welder

About the Role
We’re looking for a Lead Welder to oversee fabrication projects from setup to final QA, mentor junior welders, and keep jobs on schedule and to spec. You’ll collaborate with Project Managers and Shop Leadership to ensure safety, quality, and throughput.
What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day welding and fitting on structural and custom metal projects
- Read / interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and shop drawings
- Set up and operate MIG / TIG / Stick equipment; perform fit-ups and tack assemblies
- Train and mentor welders; assign tasks and verify quality
- Maintain safety standards, perform basic equipment maintenance, and complete QC documentation
- Coordinate with PMs on timelines, materials, and rework prevention
What You’ll Bring
5+ years welding / fabrication; 1–2 years in a lead or mentor role preferredProficiency with MIG / TIG / Stick (Laser welding experience a plus); strong layout and fit-up skillsAbility to read drawings and hold tight tolerancesFamiliarity with common shop tools (plasma, press brake, ironworker, etc.)Current certifications (e.g., AWS) a plusSchedule & Work Environment
Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime as neededShop-based role with standard PPE requirementsCompensation & Benefits
