You will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) with a Veteran first vision to transform the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) with greater visibility into claims processing. This high-impact solution accelerates the delivery of benefits to Veterans and their families. This candidate will also be expected to lead the operations team through system administration of product development and deployment to include monitoring, performance, and configuration management. This candidate will work closely with Technical Leads, Developers, Data Analysts, Workflow Engineers and Business Analysts to investigate, implement, and calibrate our solution to achieve the desired VBA outcomes.
Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day operations across program functions, ensuring seamless execution of Development, Operations and business support services.
Serve as the primary point of contact for operational activities with the customer, program leadership, and internal stakeholders.
Manage staffing, workforce planning, and resource allocation to meet mission requirements.
Oversee and meet Service Level Expectations (SLEs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and operational reporting to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement process improvements, risk mitigation strategies, and self-service initiatives.
Partner with program leads and coordinate with developer teams as needed to align delivery with customer priorities.
Ensure adherence to VA security, compliance, and governance requirements.
Support financial management activities including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management or related field (or equivalent experience).
Must have 5+ years of experience in program / operations management within federal contracting and mission support in a cloud environment.
Must have 2+ years of deployment and operations experience with custom-integrated solutions where multiple integrations are present.
Must have 2+ years of continuous operations monitoring and resolving operational issues within defined recovery windows.
Demonstrated success managing teams and operations in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of AWS services and operational delivery models, such as DevSecOps and ITIL.
Experience with performance management, SLEs, and customer engagement.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required; ability to obtain and maintain government clearance.
