About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum 2 years of hospital experience in a critical care setting such as a step down unit or ICU

License : RN license required

Certifications : BLS thru AHA required, ACLS thru AHA required, NIH strongly preferred

Must-Have : Ability to read strips, minimum 1 year RN Med Surg experience, minimum 2 years critical care experience

Description :

This position is for a bedside nurse working with a combined Med / Surg and Constant Care Unit population.

Duties include patient assessment, documentation of findings in the electronic medical record (EMR), and administering medications.

Responsibilities also include collecting vital signs and performing nursing tasks such as IV starts and NG placement.

Nurses will notify physicians as needed and utilize various equipment, including the EMR, medication dispensing systems, telemetry monitoring equipment, and vital signs monitors.

Nurses will not work alone and are required to work at least 3 weekend shifts within a four-week schedule.

The nurse to patient ratio is 5 : 1 for Med / Surg and variable for CCU.

Dress code includes Caribbean blue scrubs, with the option to wear black, white, or Caribbean blue under scrub tops or jackets.

Mandatory attendance is required for all scheduled orientations.
