Manager of Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Execution
Cenovus Energy is seeking a Manager of Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Execution to lead the Toledo Refinery Instrument and Electrical Execution team in delivery of safe, environmentally sound, cost-effective, and reliable unit operations.
The role manages all aspects of the maintenance-related Instrumentation and Electrical execution, Supervision and Craft, including direction-setting, personnel development, oversight of work quality, establishment of standards, development and implementation of improvements, and measurement of results. In addition to managing the I&E maintenance operations, the position will guide the Instrument and Electrical strategy with a primary emphasis on proactive maintenance.
This role will develop and implement standard processes, lead diverse teams to fix and improve plant performance / processes, support unit outages / Turnarounds, and support the overall refinery initiatives. Overall scope includes execution in all process units at the refinery.
Provide leadership to effectively manage the I&E Execution team, enhance team effectiveness, and deliver high performance.
Oversee the development and implementation of training and career development programs to ensure that they align with operational requirements and Cenovus's strategic objectives.
Assures proper supervision of Maintenance Craft employees, including Cenovus and / or contract Instrument Technicians, Instrument-Analyzer Technicians and Electricians.
Support Production Centric model by ensuring adequate I&E execution support to meet Asset Teams Safety, Availability, Production and Financial goals for both short and long term time frames, including working with Asset leaders to ensure adequate support.
Administers the union - company labor agreement fairly and consistently, with an understanding and consideration for the company's position on issues. Coordinates' actions and responses with other members of management. Investigates grievances thoroughly and responds at first step. Participates in arbitration hearings as required.
Acts as champion of the Instrument and Electrical Reliability strategy and work practices in support of the business goals. Provides the primary focus for proactive maintenance and reliability-related activities in these fields and supports the refinery's reliability processes and programs.
Assures and optimizes Maintenance execution practices and procedures in assigned area to achieve cost-effective results, including efficient scheduling of resources, proper training and performance of Craft personnel, and high-quality execution of work with a focus on Safety and Availability.
Drives the implementation, reporting and use of high-quality Reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) in Instrument and Electrical and supports the use of other Maintenance KPI's along with other input to drive performance and implementation of improvements as appropriate.
Supports critical refinery activities like Turnaround support, planned and unplanned outages, and preparation for and support of potential work stoppages through the Plant Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP) Team.
Legally authorized to work in the US.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
12+ years experience working in refining or relevant industry required.
Background in maintenance and / or capital project execution, contractor relations, and exposure to plant / refinery operation. Breadth of experience including some commercial, project, turnaround or similar non-technical experience.
Experience or knowledge of safety systems.
