Job Responsibilities

• Assumes unit responsibility for the practice, quality of care, and service delivered. Provides leadership and support to encourage the optimum development and performance of staff members.
• Manages all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
• Ensure quality of care and patient satisfaction through unit-specific systems and improvements.
• Ensure operational profitability with preliminary budgets, performance data, system reporting, and inventory management.
• Provide care to patients, effectively using the nursing process.
• Communicate pertinent information to patients, families, and staff.
• Participate in activities for professional development and maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
• Manage, develop, retain and inspire an engaged workforce.
• Perform other related duties as required.

The constant stress and pace of a production environment can be physically demanding.

Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area and may be exposed to infectious materials; there may be occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste.
