At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1 : 1 in-home tutoring in Riverside, CA ! About the Role : As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Riverside, CA

Details :

In-Person Tutoring in Riverside, CA
Schedule : Weekdays 3pm onwards
Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Focus Area : Foundational Literacy and Math

Ideal Candidate :

Experienced working with students with autism, ADHD, and complex learning profiles .

Skilled in behavior management, emotional regulation support, and de-escalation strategies .

Patient, calm, and consistent in approach.

Knowledgeable in evidence-based reading, writing, and math instruction for students performing below grade level.

Creative in incorporating student interests into instruction.

Able to design structured sessions with clear routines and transition supports.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 2–3 years of experience tutoring or teaching students with developmental differences and behavioral challenges.

Familiarity with IEPs, RSP supports, ABA principles, and positive reinforcement strategies .

Ability to pass background check and provide professional references.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct an academic and functional assessment to establish current skill levels and guide instruction.

Provide instruction in :

Foundational literacy skills (reading fluency, comprehension, and writing from sentence to paragraph / essay)

Math concepts (number sense, operations, problem-solving)

6th grade science and other general education subjects as needed

Implement behavioral strategies to support focus, transitions, and positive engagement.

Use frequent breaks, token boards, and other reinforcement systems to motivate learning.

Incorporate the student’s interests into lessons and incentives.

Collaborate with caregivers and therapy teams to align goals and ensure consistency.

Maintain progress records and adjust instruction based on the student’s needs.
