Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Food Services Cook at Heartbeat
Music Performing Arts Academy plays a vital role in ensuring that our students receive
nutritious and delicious meals. This position is responsible for preparing and serving
meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our students. The Cook will also be
responsible for maintaining compliance with the regulations set forth under Title 22
Health and Safety and Title 5 California State Preschool Funding.
Responsibilities
Plan and prepare nutritious meals for students, considering dietary restrictions and allergies.The ideal cook will prepare food from ingredients and recipes that meet the dietary needs of our students.The Food Services Cook will prepare food for students at March Air Reserve Base, Perris, and Moreno Valley.The Food Services Cook will deliver food to Perris and Moreno Valley preschool sites.Ensure that meals are well-balanced, appealing, and served in appropriate portion sizes.Follow the approved menu and adjust as necessary to accommodate dietary changes or special occasions.Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.Adhere to all health and safety regulations outlined in Title 22.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area.Ensure proper food storage, handling, and cooking techniques are followed to prevent foodborne illnesses.Document and maintain accurate records of temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and any other required documentation.Ensure that meals and snacks provided meet the nutritional guidelines specified under Title 5.Maintain accurate records and documentation related to meal planning and compliance.Collaborate with the kitchen staff and other academy personnel to ensure efficient meal service.Communicate with parents and guardians regarding dietary restrictions and special accommodations.Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.Progressive food services experience.Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, techniques, and kitchen equipment.Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving objectsas necessary.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with students, parents, and staff.Able to work Monday-Friday 6 : 00 a.m.-2 : 30 p.m.Physical clearance (Physical and TB Screening) and Background Clearance are required prior to the start of employment.Must have a clean driving record and able to prepare and deliver food toHBMPAA and our funding sites.Must have valid driver's license (clean driving record)
