About the Role : Water and Sewer Manager
As the Water and Sewer Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the comprehensive operation of Schweitzer's water and sewer systems, ensuring clean, safe drinking water and effective wastewater management for our community. Your responsibilities will include :
Essential Functions and Major ResponsibilitiesOperational Oversight
Plan, supervise, and evaluate all water and wastewater operations.Ensure systems align with district needs and regulatory requirements.Monitor utility operations for compliance with permits and regulations.Address operational emergencies effectively.Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies.Technical Management
Maintain infrastructure, including plants and electrical systems.Oversee major construction and repair projects.Maintain critical parts inventory and update maintenance schedules.Collaborate on snow removal and road maintenance impacts.Financial Administration
Develop and manage operating and capital improvement budgets.Monitor utility rates for long-term planning.Staff Supervision
Supervise Water and Utility Company staff, including hiring and training.Conduct regular staff meetings and training programs.Plan and assign work, ensuring high performance standards.Customer & Community Relations
Act as the primary contact for water / sewer customers.Maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders.Operational Duties
Perform duties of a certified water and wastewater operator.Maintain accurate records and prepare various reports.Ensure disaster preparedness and safety protocols are in place.Secondary Responsibilities
Lead special projects as assigned.Work with local and state agencies to meet permitting requirements.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
