Lead, Industrial Security (Physical Security)

This position is responsible for supporting and enacting all L3Harris corporate policies including the protection of L3Harris' intellectual property. The experienced CPSO will be responsible for developing, strategizing, and managing internal security program policies and procedures in accordance with DoD security policies to include NISPOM, JSIG, and DoDM 5205.07v1-4, and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs). This position is responsible for supporting all security related issues for the Strategic Missions Division located in Palm Bay, FL. As the Industrial Security Lead onsite, responsibilities include support and execution of all facility security functions including SCIF operations, personnel security, program support, physical security, information security, document control, badging and access control. This position implements all requisite national security directives with specific emphasis on NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and JAFAN requirements as applicable. This position exhibits the dedication and expectation of security operational excellence required in a seasoned security professional while working and making decisions independently without direct supervision. The person selected will work as a team player, exhibit flexibility, set priorities, and manage customer expectations in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include interacting with internal and external customers or Government security officials in performance of security duties.
Essential Functions :
- Mentor and coach as the physical security and construction subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job area and knowledge of project management.
- Communicate within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
- Create and / or maintain continuity books and procedures for full physical security life cycle to include pre-construction planning and accreditation.
- Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products to achieve efficiency.
- Provides input into new products / processes and implements operational plans that have a measurable impact on business or functional results.
- Manage large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
- Generates monthly physical security review charts while routinely assisting with generating and presenting briefing material.
- Perform security pre-screening of all potential employees, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Manage all personnel security paperwork for accuracy, completion, and submission.
- Serve as facilities liaison for restricted areas and issue and track access badges for multiple locations.
- Analyze and investigate security incidents and violations; prepare internal and external customer reports.
- Prepare and maintain Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs) in accordance with customer guidelines.
- Occasionally assist with classified courier duties - requiring SCI clearances.
- Prepare and participate in DCSA and IC community Security Assessments.
- Physical security duties include, but are not limited to, combinations, access control systems, alarm accesses, secure area modifications and buildouts.
- Responsible for adhering to L3Harris corporate policies on protecting intellectual property, PII protection, Insider Threat, and other such policies.
- Must be willing to travel to support customer needs. Travel can be scheduled or as required to meet business needs up to 25%.
Qualifications :
Must possess an active Top-Secret clearance with current in-scope eligibility and SSBI data. (An in-scope FS or CI Poly.)
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills :
Experience with leading or managing Security Vulnerability Assessments resulting in a commendable or superior rating category.Experience with developing security response statements for security-related RFP sections.Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.Outstanding work ethic and commitment to security operational success with a high degree of accuracy.Excellent written and verbal presentation skills to communicate well with team members, customers and senior leadership.Demonstrate excellent organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Ability to act and complete tasks independently with very minimal support from team members in high stress environments.Knowledge of IC security administration.Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).Industrial Security Professional (ISP) certification.High level of personal motivation and initiative to learn and acquire new skills.
