Are you ready to take on a high-impact role supporting a premier satellite ground system capture effort? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to provide leadership and direction to Agile software development teams on a large-scale satellite ground system pursuit. This role leverages and enhances your expertise in requirements clarification, systems engineering analysis, algorithm development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirements validation and verification — all critical skills that will directly contribute to the success of the program.
This position is onsite in Aurora, CO , supporting Raytheon’s response to a recently awarded preliminary design effort to develop the next generation of satellite mission management and command and control systems. In this role, you will serve as a Senior Principal Systems Engineer responsible for ensuring the system has clearly defined requirements at all levels, with proper verification and validation methods of the system with documentation available to show system design and functionality prior to its release into operations.
What You Will Do
Provide technical analyses and define how the system works creating use cases
Decompose requirements, define system interfaces and help determine how requirements will be validated and verified by the test team
Support Architecture, Design, Integration and Test of the System to ensure the system is verified and validated prior to release into Operations
Lead a mixed team of Raytheon employees, subcontractors, and leased labor in support of all phases of Systems Engineering software development.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience as a lead Systems Engineer in a software development environment.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS / SCI security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain a Polygraph after start.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.
