We are looking for a Firmware QA Manager with a lot of experience to run our quality assurance department for firmware and embedded systems. The best candidate will have a lot of experience with firmware testing QA methods and leadership which will help make sure that products are delivered in a strong and reliable way.
Main Duties :
Oversee all quality assurance work for embedded software products and lead and manage the Firmware QA team.
Create carry out and improve test plans test cases and testing strategies for firmware releases.
Work with the teams that make firmware hardware and manage products to set and keep track of QA goals and deliverables.
Push for the use of automated testing frameworks and continuous integration methods.
Make sure that your products meet industry standards and government rules for safety and quality.
Find write down and report defects making sure they are fixed quickly and the root cause is found.
Mentor and coach QA engineers to create an environment where people always want to get better and be the best at what they do.
Prepare and give senior management QA metrics status reports and risk assessments.
Keep up with the latest tools trends and best practices in firmware QA and embedded systems.
Required Qualifications :
A bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or a related field (a masters degree is preferred).
7 or more years of experience in QA for firmware or embedded systems with at least 2 years in a management or leadership position.
A good understanding of microcontrollers embedded systems and firmware architectures.
Good at using QA tools test automation scripts and bug tracking systems like JIRA and TestRail.
Experience with automated test frameworks for firmware such as Python C / C Jenkins and others.
Knowledge of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.
Great at talking to people organizing things and being a leader.
Skills that are preferred :
Knowledge of rules and regulations such as ISO 26262 IEC 61508 and the FDA.
Experience with consumer electronics cars medical devices or the Internet of Things (IoT).
Certification in project management or Agile / Scrum.
