Job Description :
The Research, Analytics, and Reporting Manager oversees the day-to-day management of research, analytics and reporting activities and requirements. The Research, Analytics, and Reporting Manager reports to the Director of Water-Use Efficiency and is responsible for supervising other employees. This position is located in Torrance, CA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Supervises staff, including prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, overseeing training and development, and making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations
Analyzes data for budget analysis, preparation and forecasting
Provides technical and administrative support in areas such as fiscal management, database management, general administration, and special projects and research requiring quantitative and analytical skills
Oversees all regulatory and required reporting to ensure compliance
Oversees the development and maintenance of data models, reporting systems, data automation, dashboards, and performance metrics to support key business decisions
Oversees the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics
Manages and optimize processes to ensure efficiency and data accuracy
Writes, analyzes, and evaluates technical reports and publications
Oversees the identification of grant opportunities, development and submittal of applications, and required reporting and compliance
Oversees Water Resource Sustainability Department responsibilities related to GIS
Participates in the preparation of informational and presentation materials
Participates in the development of training and safety programs to enhance the Water Resource Sustainability Department and ensure compliance with company policy and occupational safety regulations
Prepares Requests for Proposals and make recommendations for contract services
Plans and coordinates the work of consultants and other service providers
Authorizes purchase of equipment, materials, and supplies
Reviews and approves invoices for payment
Participates in General Rate Case process
Oversees the evaluation of programs and makes recommendations for improvements
Assists the Water Resource Sustainability Director with short- and long-term departmental planning
Represents Cal Water at various state and local industry forums, and public hearings
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with all those encountered in the course of work
Operates a computer and office related equipment to fulfill job responsibilities
Participates in and supports the company's Continuous Improvement program and projects
Performs work on-site in the assigned office location
Other duties may be assigned to fulfill business operational needs and objectives
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Water Resources, Economics, Data Analytics, orrelated field and / or equivalent relevant experience
California State Water Resources Control Board Grade D2 Water Distribution Certificationpreferred
Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques
Effective management and team building skills
Management experience required (3-years)
Knowledge of applicable State, Federal and local laws and regulations
Understanding of an experience using analytical concepts and developing actionablerecommendations
Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to informdecisions
Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities
Ability to read, interpret, and explain regulatory documents
Ability to organize work to meet changing schedules and high-pressure situations
Ability to work with others and diffuse hostile situations when necessary
Ability to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to writtenspecifications and / or verbal instructions
Exceptional ability to communicate new information effectively, both verbally and in writing, ina tactful and persuasive manner
Ability to play an effective public role in strengthening the Company's external profile and incommunicating specific areas of expertise and differentiation
Ability to think strategically and execute on plans
Demonstrated leadership skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to outstanding customerservice
Must be proficient in personal computer skills including Microsoft Office and CCS
Valid California Driver License
Salary Range : $111,400 - $206,800
