Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2 or tertiary experience

2+ years experience in Peds.

BLS through AHA required

PALS through AHA required

L2 Trauma AND 400+ bed facility experience is required

1. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Care for peds patient between the age of 3 days to 18 years of age.

This would include common childhood illness, including COVID + patients. The nurse will need to have a high knowledge base for pediatric patient at all levels of care. Peds - trauma, respiratory, RSV, general surgical, birth defects, send out more complex surgicals.

2. Equipment utilized in the unit / dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)

EPIC, Pyxis

3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.

2 years Peds minimum experience required, IV skills a plus. EPIC experience is required. Experience in 400+ bed facility with similar acquity (L2 trauma) required.

4. Specific licensures and certifications / registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)

BLS thru AHA required, PALS required, compact or IN RN license

5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)

3 - 12 hour shifts per week. OT options may be available.

6. Floating to other units / departments. (If so, to which units / departments?)

May float to PICU as helping hands.

7. Bed size / number of rooms for this unit / dept.

Peds - 28 beds

8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)

1 : 4 patients Peds

9. Dress Code :
