Description :

• Set up, adjust and operate all machines to perform a variety of machining operations on a diversified line of work.
• Work sometimes involves critical interrelationships and concentricity between surfaces.
• Tolerances / finishes are sometimes difficult to maintain.
• Handle parts appropriately to maintain required tolerances / finishes after machining process is complete.
• Plan and select feeds, speeds and tooling for all machine tools.
• Plan and select work holding set-ups, tooling, cutting sequence and depth of cuts.
• Perform layout work where jigs are not available.
• Grind tools including form tools.
• Recommend new tooling to improve efficiency, life or part quality.
• Strong aptitude for maintaining and improving quality.
• Work from drawings, specifications and sketches.
• Use a variety of precision measuring instruments.
• Check own work, which is subject to final fit, performance and sample audits by other Machinists.
• Edit feeds and speeds, load existing program, and operate CNC machinery.
• May be required to set-up and assist machine operators and other employees assigned to Machine Shop.
