Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a critical care float position in the ICU and PCU, requiring a WA or compact RN license and strong telemetry and critical care skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital setting, predominantly with the ICU and PCU patient populationsFloating throughout Auburn and occasionally Covington campuses to ICU level or lower acuity patientsApproximately 75% of shifts will be spent caring for PCU level patients in ED overflowCommon patient types include respiratory failure, ESRD, AKI, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, post-op, CVA, ETOH, and overdoseAdvanced procedures include cardiac rhythm interpretation, telemetry, ventilator and bipap management, invasive line management, ostomies, general drains, chest tubes, and IV medication titration16-bed ICUUses Epic for charting, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems12-hour day shifts with every other weekend rotationMay be required to act as a 'lead' in ED holding situationsFirst-time travelers will be consideredScrubs in any color except camouflage are permitted; navy blue preferredNo craniotomy, major trauma, or major cardiothoracic cases involved\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact state RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of critical care experience requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required; CCRN preferredProficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, telemetry monitoring, ventilator / trach care, bipap, invasive lines, ostomy, chest tube, and IV medication titrationExperience working with Epic EMR is required\n Benefits\n
