Banquet Manager – Andaz Maui at Wailea

Join us as a Banquet Manager at Andaz Maui at Wailea, a luxury resort on Maui's premier southwestern coastline.

Overview

As Banquet Manager, you will lead dynamic teams and orchestrate all events including The Feast at Mokapu, a premier luau. You will shape the event experience, manage logistics, maintain budgets, hire and train staff, and build relationships with third-party sales.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Event Services, Event Setup, and Beverage teams in collaboration with the Food & Beverage Director.
  • Oversee the Feast at Mokapu, including training, scheduling, coaching, seating charts, marketing, profitability analysis, and third-party sales relations.
  • Ensure all events meet standards of food, beverage, and meeting specifications, reviewing Event Orders and coordinating with other departments.
  • Proactively review staffing and equipment needs, addressing opportunities to improve service and profitability.
  • Maintain high energy, positive professional appearance, and creative décor for event spaces.
  • Lead bi-weekly review meetings with supporting departments.
  • Perform daily walk-throughs to ensure compliance with health regulations and corporate standards.
  • Develop ideas for special events and holiday functions.

Qualifications

  • Full-time management position requiring full flexibility, weekends, holidays, and varied schedule.
  • Desire to understand and anticipate needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • General computer proficiency.
  • Creativity, innovation, detail orientation, organization.
  • Hotel experience and understanding of all levels of event services.
  • Previous experience as Event Services Manager, Assistant, Captain, or Supervisor preferred.
  • High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, strong developer and trainer, customer-service focus.
  • Valid Maui County Liquor Certification Card.
  • Compensation & Benefits

    Salary : $77,000 – $95,000, based on experience and qualifications.
