POSITION SCOPE :
The Senior Manager of Fund Accounting is responsible for leading and managing a small team
tasked with providing daily fund administration services to their assigned client base, comprised
of hedge, private equity, venture capital and real estate funds. This position also provides direct
client contact to ensure optimal service and team performance and provides communication
with outside auditors on behalf of the client.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
Hires, trains, coaches and manages assigned staff member(s) to provide to effectively
meet and maintain assigned clients recurring fund administration tasks
Oversees and performs the daily fund administration activities for all assigned clients,
including but not limited to NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations, treasury management
services, investor allocation and reporting, ad-hoc client analysis and general inquiries,
investor capital calls / distributions, and investor waterfall calculations
Manages implementation of new client onboarding including banking,
brokerage / exchange, reporting, system setup and in-house procedures
Communicates directly with assigned client base on a frequent basis to respond to
requests, provide information, and analyze account
Prepares and reviews month end packages
Troubleshoots and researches system issues
Supports Funds annual audit / tax and financial statement preparation, working with
Funds CPA firm
Attends local and out-of-state networking events to maintain key client and service
provider; along with periodic onsite visits to respective client base
Completes other duties, as assigned by the Vice President of Fund Accounting
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION :
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline required,
Masters degree preferred
5-8 years experience in the fund administration industry required
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
5-8 years of supervisory experience
General Advent Geneva skills
Microsoft Suite proficiency
Advanced skills in MS Excel and data analysis
Ability to work in multiple system environments
Must be able to problem solve and think out-of-the-box
Attention to detail, self-management, and the ability to effectively prioritize workload
and tasks
Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
Ability to travel to meet with business clients and attend professional seminars
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to function in high-pressure situations
Ability to meet strict deadlines consistently
Manual dexterity to operate a computer and general office equipment
Correctable vision and hearing
Excellent interpersonal skills
Clear, easy to understand oral communication ability
Ability to read, write, and speak English
