Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level 3 Trauma Center with Epic EMR experience and flexible shift requirements.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care Emergency Department settingServes a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, metabolic, and behavioral health casesLevel 3 trauma center with dedicated triage area, psych hold rooms, and overflow psych space separate from the main EDUtilizes Epic and Pyxis for charting and medication managementShift schedule may include day, mid, or night shifts with rotations in 4-week blocks and assignments to any shift with advance noticeRequired to work every other weekendNo on-call or floating requiredSpacelabs monitors in each room with a dedicated monitor tech 24 / 7At least two days of unit-specific orientation provided before starting rotationResponsibilities include managing ER triage, acute care, and behavioral health emergenciesInterdisciplinary support from dedicated charge nurses, house supervisors, ED techs, and sittersRespiratory therapists available with vent, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and ABG capabilityIn-house security and separate ER x-ray / CT facilities enhance safety and efficiencyBoth nurses and phlebotomy staff perform blood drawsScrub attire may be any color; uniforms are not requiredHousing in the area may be challenging—candidates should arrange accommodations in advanceHoliday coverage required, with at least one major holiday off per contractRequirements
Active RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department experienceCurrent certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC, NIHSS, TNCCPrevious travel assignment completion required; first-time travelers are not eligibleExperience with trauma, mental health, substance use, and complex medical emergenciesExperience using Epic EMR requiredAbility to work all available shift types as neededBenefits
