Summary
The EMT-Lead instructor educates, trains, and professionally develops students in all EMT courses. Lead instructors are responsible for preparing the EMS student for the field. Instructional activities include delivering scheduled lectures, labs, clinical performance, and coaching assignments, as well as student
progress assessment, grading, and testing. Lead instructors are tasked with student success and NREMT pass rates.
Lead Instructors are required to have intermediate to advanced field experience and obtain and apply knowledge of Barry EMS student handbook program policies, classroom operation, and learning
management software (LMS) operation. Lead Instructors are accountable for interacting with Adjunct instructors when being relieved of instruction, such as lecture & lab, and other pass-down teaching assignments.
All Barry EMS (EMT and Paramedic) Instructors must be well versed in the delivery of content in full accordance with the NATIONAL STANDARDS EMT and Paramedic Scope of Practice and advanced patient assessment and treatment modalities with the end goal of properly preparing students for NREMT
licensure examinations.
