Summary
The Design Systems Analyst provides technical support for designers at the Houston Telge Road Facility, Equity Drive Office, and ES Designers in Abu Dhabi. This role supports Business Units in the United States, including ES, AMS Retrofit, ITK, Energy Transition, and LatAm-Houston.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborate with the CAD Manager and Administrators to maintain design hardware and software in accordance with North American facilities.
- Participate in monthly CAD Steering Committee meetings to contribute to CAD roadmaps and initiatives for North American CAD teams.
- Install and set up CAD software for US locations, working with IT to create deployment packages.
- Manage design station standards and specifications for each design role.
- Coordinate all designer assets, including laptops, docks, keyboards, and mice.
- Manage all design software installers and their storage within IT folders.
- Oversee design software updates, service packs, and hotfixes.
- Maintain work instructions for CAD software installation and troubleshooting.
- Assist with managing and updating PRJ files according to the latest piping specifications.
- Create project-specific PRJ files as required by Houston's engineering teams.
- Coordinate CAD support desk tasks and back up other regional CAD admins when necessary.
- Resolve daily hardware and software issues supporting over 30 designers in Houston.
- Audit models and troubleshoot for submission to the engineering data management system.
- Test and validate new software versions.
- Develop new routines and processes for CAD designers as needed.
- Support all custom CAD and integration tools.
- Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, CADWorx, I-Configure, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of design experience or related education.Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and CADWorx is essential.Experience with materials and Material BOMs in ERP systems is advantageous.Familiarity with ASME and API codes is a plus.Physical Requirements
