Team Description :
The Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team is pivotal in actualizing our AI vision at Capital One. We collaborate closely with various partners within the company to push boundaries in AI science and engineering, developing proprietary solutions that add value for millions. Our AI models empower teams across the organization to enhance their offerings responsibly and at scale.
In this role, you will :
Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-driven products that reshape associate workflows and customer interactions with Capital One.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
Utilize an expansive array of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies, including AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch.
Innovate and apply state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to elevate performance metrics such as scalability, cost, latency, and throughput of large-scale AI systems.
Contribute to the technical vision and long-term strategy for foundational AI systems within Capital One.

Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields, with at least 3 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies; or a Master's degree in the same fields with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
At least 3 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
Preferred Qualifications :
4 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or similar private cloud).
Experience in developing, delivering, and supporting AI services.
Experience creating and applying AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g., LLM Inference, Similarity Search and VectorDBs, Guardrails, Memory) using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
Experience in optimizing training and inference software to enhance hardware utilization, reduce latency, improve throughput, and lower costs.

Capital One offers a competitive salary ranging from $158,600 to $197,400 based on location and experience, with eligibility for performance-based incentives and comprehensive benefits packages that foster total well-being.
