Job Summary : Performs administrative work of moderate difficulty in the planning, directing, and coordinating activities of one or more specialty courts or specialized court programs to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished. Join Adult Probation in supporting drug, mental health, and veterans treatment courts to address the underlying issues bringing people into the court system and focus on programs and skills that will keep our community safe.

Example of Duties :
- Works closely with the Appointing Authority in developing and overseeing programs, policies, and procedures of specialty court(s) or specialized programs, including, but not limited to, day to day operations, personnel plans, record keeping, calendars and case flow management systems.
- Confers with Appointing Authority, judges, steering committee and department personnel to provide technical advice to resolve problems; advises staff and judges concerning the administrative procedures of the specialty court(s).
- Identifies, recommends, reviews, assesses, establishes, modifies and maintains overall strategic plans; identifies and monitors long and short-range goals and objectives; designs and / or oversees performance measures related to specialized programs or specialty court operations.
- Oversees and monitors the effectiveness of specialized programs or specialty court operations; identifies problems; recommends and implements procedural and administrative changes.
- Oversees the management of specialty court automated systems and technology to insure the continuation of services to the public and the court.
- Reviews pending and proposes new legislation; identifies impact on specialized programs or specialty court operations; serves as a resource regarding legislation and related matters.
- Researches, develops, prepares and submits grant funding applications; monitors and administers grant funded projects and programs.
- Reviews, assesses, develops, and implements modifications of operational and procedural specialty court policies and procedures.
- Creates and manages uniform record-keeping systems, collecting data on pending and completed judicial business and the internal operation of the court, as required by the AOC.
- Attends specialty court(s) to provide on-site regulatory support and guidance as needed; establishes protocols and processes.
- Coordinates with persons (or representatives) from government regulatory and / or other government agencies.
- Coordinates specialized program or specialty court meetings.
- Represents the specialized program or specialty court(s) at committee meetings as requested by the Appointing Authority.
- Undertakes special projects as required / assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements to Perform Work :
Bachelor's Degree in Court Administration, Business or Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a closely related field; ANDFive (5) years related administrative work experience in a court environment, including one (1) year in a lead or supervisory capacity; ANDValid Arizona Driver's License at time of hire; ORAny equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities is qualifying.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of organization, operations, functions, and scope of authority of specialty courts or programs.Knowledge of principles of basic research techniques, as well as knowledge of procedures, practices and operation of the court system, procedures, rules and applicable Arizona statutes.Knowledge of specialty court policies and procedures; guidelines, regulations and statutes affecting specialty courts.Knowledge of principles and theories of instruction. Applying adult learning theory in the development and facilitation of training programs.Knowledge of court, probation, and other relevant data systems.Knowledge of grant writing procedures.Knowledge of personal computer, electronic networks and other information and communications technologies Records management operations.Knowledge of computer skills that include the development and implementation of Power Point presentations, Microsoft Word and excel spreadsheets.Knowledge of time management and managing multiple projects and daily responsibilities effectively and efficiently.Knowledge of supervisory and leadership skills, including decisiveness, good judgment, fairness, integrity and the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of work systems, programs and strategies.Ability to maintain confidentiality in court related matters.Ability to define and analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, diverse populations, and the public.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to plan, organize and supervise.Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, both verbally and in writing.Ability to work under pressure in a highly dynamic work environment with changing demands and priorities.Ability to facilitate multi-agency meetings and work across systems to support court and / or program outcomes.Physical Requirements : Independent body mobility to stand, walk, bend, and sit for prolonged periods of time and drive a vehicle. Manual dexterity to reach and grasp; manual dexterity to hand write or use computer keyboard; vision sufficient to see and read; hear and speak to communicate with customers in person and over the phone. May be required to lift and / or carry heavy, bulky items, equipment, supplies and / or other materials weighing up to 25 pounds. May have to drive throughout the County.
Working Conditions : Office setting. May be required to travel throughout Pinal County to satellite offices.
