Job Title : Radiology Tech Profession : Tech Specialty : Radiology Duration : Direct Hire Shift : Day Hours per Shift : 36.00 Experience : Minimum experience required License : BLS Certifications : ARRT Must-Have : Previous OR experience Description : Performs radiographic examinations with minimal supervision under the direction of a Radiologist. Coordinates daily activities, including performing examinations and associated clerical duties. Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedures on requisitions submitted by physicians. Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity. Prepares and administers contrast media as required. Consults with Radiologists and other physicians as necessary. Selects and operates equipment as dictated by the demands of individual procedures. Demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills. Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards. Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers. Handles equipment and monitoring supplies. Must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff. May be required to frequently stretch, bend, twist, squat, or kneel while operating radiographic equipment. Must be able to use hands for power gripping and precision during manipulation of radiographic equipment. Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet are necessary. May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the workday, such as walking on hard surfaces and climbing stairs. Able to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity. Successful completion of a formal Radiology Technology Program in an AMA Approved facility is required. ARRT (R) and BLS (AHA or ARC) certifications are required.
