Department Information

The College of Computing was established in 1990 as the first such College at a public university and the second in the United States. Since that time, the college has grown into a world-class leader in research and education. The graduate CS program is currently ranked 6th and the undergraduate 5th nationally by U.S. News and World Report. The College consists of five Schools that provide specialized and general computing education to the entire campus. With over 16-degree programs, including its world-renowned online MS in CS, we believe the College to be the largest Computing unit in the United States and, as such, one of the largest producers of computationalist at all levels and of all demographic backgrounds. The College is a part of the Georgia Institute of Technology, a unit of the University System of Georgia and is primarily located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Summary

The Program Manager works with many levels of leadership and staff to manage program efforts based on industry best practices; works as the single point of contact for facilitation and communication of program goals, deliverables, and schedules, and must be an excellent communicator; various levels of documentation will be produced at each stage of the program and the program manager is often the person who creates these with input from others.

This position may supervise assigned staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Lead the delivery, management, and execution of multiple advanced or complex programs.

Job Duty 2 -

Lead the creation of program plans and interact regularly with program sponsors, stakeholders, program teams, and others in completion of the work and communicating status.

Job Duty 3 -

Provide expertise and consulting to program managers and other units in program management methodology.

Job Duty 4 -

Review progress of programs and recommend and support improvement strategies where needed.

Job Duty 5 -

Research emerging best practices and technologies for program and portfolio management.

Job Duty 6 -

Develop program publications, resources and other marketing tools to build a comprehensive marketing strategy and communication plan.

Job Duty 7 -

Participate in the strategic planning process and provide input into strategic decisions for the organization / unit; assist in developing the strategic vision and goals of the organization.

Job Duty 8 -

May be responsible to provide specialized leadership, direction, and oversight; Select and train staff and assign duties.

Job Duty 9 -

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience

5 years of job-related experience

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of industry-standard and organizationally-accepted analysis principles and methods.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, coordination of forecasting and modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

SKILLS

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Skill in effectively managing change and the communication and enforcement thereof.

Salary range is dependent on candidates experiences and skills that ranges from $83,659 - $113,777
