Talent Acquisition Specialist
Location : TX 75261
Hours : Full-Time, 40 hours / week
Schedule : Monday Friday, 8 : 30 AM 5 : 00 PM
About the Role :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Staffing Manager, you will play a key role in recruiting, processing, and assessing candidates for both professional and non-professional positions. Your expertise will help ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Collaborate with hiring officials to define "best qualified" criteria for positions.
Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Screen applications and resumes; conduct preliminary interviews; refer top candidates to departments.
Verify and process selection documentation and maintain accurate records.
Process applicant and employee data using HR systems.
Ensure staffing practices comply with federal and state laws and EEO guidelines.
Monitor diversity, affirmative action, and utilization goals, implementing strategies to achieve them.
Oversee background checks and vendor activities related to recruitment and testing.
Research new legislation affecting recruitment and selection programs.
Develop and maintain reports on hiring trends and selection activities.
Attend job fairs and engage with community organizations to promote recruitment initiatives.
Assist in developing testing and assessment tools, as needed.
Contribute to the annual recruitment plan in line with diversity objectives.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years professional-level staffing and recruitment experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
Required Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of current HR practices, EEO rules, and federal hiring regulations.
Strong applicant screening skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
Proficiency with computerized data processing and recordkeeping.
Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse candidates and staff.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in developing testing and selection tools.
Working Conditions :
Office-based role with extended periods of sitting.
Frequent interaction via phone, email, and in-person communication.
Regular use of computer and keyboard devices.
