About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Shift : Night

Experience : 2 years in ICU

License : Current New Mexico or Multi-State Licensure

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS (preferred)

Must-Have : Broad knowledge in various ICU areas

Description :

The ICU RN will have a broad knowledge of a variety of ICU areas.

Nurses may care for patients in different ICU specializations.

Experience in OB, CICU, SICU, MICU, or PICU is beneficial.

Nurses must be prepared to handle any of these specialties.

The role involves managing multiple patients with complex needs.

It requires skills in accessing and managing ports, as well as arterial line management.

Assistance with chest tube insertion and removal is part of the responsibilities.

Nurses will assist with the management of BiPAP and CPAP.

Blood product administration is a crucial function of this role.

Experience in a cardiovascular intensive care unit is beneficial.

Care of ventilated patients is a significant aspect of the job.

Central line care and management are required duties.

Nurses will deal with chronic and acute renal failure scenarios.

Management of continuous IV paralytics and neuromuscular blockade is essential.

Administration of emergency medications will be necessary.

Nurses will utilize high flow nasal cannula for patients.

Infection prevention practices must be adhered to.

Interpretation of dysrhythmias is a vital skill for this position.

Understanding isolation precautions and the use of PPE is necessary.

Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure is expected.

Nurses will perform and obtain 12-lead EKG / ECGs.

PICC line management is a requisite skill.

The role involves procedural sedation administration and monitoring.

Knowledge of pulmonary edema and pulmonary embolism management is essential.

Nurses will participate in the care of patients with respiratory failure.

Starting and maintaining IVs is a fundamental responsibility.

They will be entrusted with surgical wounds that have drains or wound vacs.

Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips is part of the nursing care provided.

This position may require occasional floating and covering weekend shifts as needed.

Nurses will work in an environment that supports interdisciplinary collaboration.

Team members may include physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.

Flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to minimal requests for time off is expected.

Nurses may need to arrive on call within a specified time if required.
