Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position with a NM or compact license and TNCC certification required.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma and Teaching HospitalPrimarily adult and pediatric acute care patient population with high admission rates and ED holdsStandard nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5Night shifts available (3x12 hours, 19 : 00-07 : 30), with 36 or 48 hour per week contractsWeekend shifts required as needed, including both weekend days and nightsFloating to Adult PCUs and ED Holding / Trauma is expected; floating to Peds ED is optionalCerner EMR is usedProvide medication administration, including IV medications, and document clinical findingsHigh percentage of ED patients are admitted, with many held in the ED pending bed availabilityRTO greater than 7 days requires approval; no RTO permitted in the first or last 7 days of the contractFirst-time travelers may be considered if they have 2+ years Level I Trauma ED experienceTravelers cannot return as a contractor until 12 months have passed since last employment at this facilityBlack scrubs required and not providedComprehensive stroke center work environmentDrug screening and compliance onboarding must be completed before assignment startModules and orientation training provided during the first weekRequirements
Active NM or compact RN license (can be pending at the time of consideration)Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required; candidates with 1.5 years may be reviewedLevel I Trauma experience and previous travel experience strongly preferredCurrent ACLS, BLS, TNCC (must have before consideration), NIHSS (can be pending until compliance), and PALS certifications requiredCOVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentationNo local candidates residing within a 75-mile radius will be consideredDriver’s license or written transportation plan required for complianceBenefits
