SKILLS :
- Knowledge of payroll processing
- Knowledge of federal and state CA payroll tax law
- Intermediate Excel skills and Microsoft Word skills
- Experience with Paycom a plus or similar system
- Experience with union payroll requirements a plus
- Ability to complete a large volume of work with a high degree of accuracy
- Able to set appropriate priorities and meet deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Must maintain strict confidentiality
- Must perform the functions of the position in a safe manner
JOB FUNCTIONS :
Processes weekly and payroll for two payroll groupsCompletes all required union reportsVerifies new employee information in an ERP payroll system with PaycomSets up correct deductions for employeesSets up garnishments, federal and state tax leviesResponsible for yearend W-2 processing and distributionCalculates 401(a) contributionsCompletes monthly and quarterly State and Federal surveysADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES :
Special projects with Controller and CFOPerforms various accounting duties related to a / p and general ledgerProvides Controller with reports for financial and retirement plan auditsPerforms other job-related duties as assigned.EDUCATION : Two years of college or equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE : Two plus years of increasingly responsible payroll administrator experience
