Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• Previous charge experience
• Patient ratio experience 4-5
• Charting system experience with Epic

Description :

The registered nurse will float between units as needed.

Weekends are required every other weekend.

This position is for a designated stroke unit that is thrombectomy capable.

Additional support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.

The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Daily census in the unit is approximately 48 patients.

The nurse will manage telemetry and provide pre / post-neurosurgery care.

Skills required include management and interpretation of dysrhythmias and experience with chest tubes, craniotomy, CVA, external CPAP / BIPAP, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury.

Procedural sedation administration and monitoring are also part of the role.

The nurses are expected to float between nearby facilities if necessary.

References from supervisory roles covering the last three years will be required.

Completion of modules is required, and time for modules is self-reported.
