Position Summary :
The Maintenance and Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance and housekeeping departments. This position ensures that all building systems, grounds, and resident areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and functional condition. The supervisor also plays a key role in ensuring compliance with state and federal health and safety standards while providing leadership and training to staff.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintenance Duties :
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
Oversee and coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and vendor services.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure timely completion.
Conduct regular inspections of the property, identifying and resolving safety or operational issues.
Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Housekeeping Duties :
Supervise housekeeping staff, schedules, and daily assignments to ensure cleanliness throughout the facility.
Train and support housekeeping staff to ensure proper cleaning procedures and infection control protocols are followed.
Inspect resident rooms, common areas, and restrooms to maintain high cleanliness standards.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and internal policies regarding sanitation and chemical use.
Laundry Duties :
Leadership and Administrative :
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate performance of maintenance and housekeeping staff.
Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and compliance reports.
Collaborate with nursing and administrative teams to support a safe, home-like environment.
Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in building maintenance and / or housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Experience in a healthcare or assisted living environment strongly preferred.
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and facility operations.
Familiarity with infection control and OSHA standards.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
