Join GEICO as a Distinguished Engineer in Finance Technologies and lead the design, development, and implementation of Finance Transformation solutions. Build robust, automated, and scalable finance platforms that streamline accounting, forecasting, reporting, pricing, reserving, compliance, and Treasury operations.
Base pay range
$125,000 / yr – $300,000 / yr
Job Summary
You will spearhead the design and deployment of finance transformation solutions, collaborate with business partners, drive architectural decisions, and set best practices across the engineering organization.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement finance platforms that support various finance and corporate initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with business and product partners to understand needs and design solutions that prioritize their priorities.
- Lead decisions on buy vs build evaluations based on functional fit, technical feasibility, and cost‑benefit.
- Evangelize and steer FinTech solutioning in areas such as automated reporting, Treasury operations, reserving, revenue forecasting, pricing, regulatory compliance automation, and substantiation.
- Abstract cross‑cutting concerns into reusable platform components.
- Prioritize and sequence milestones, delivering incremental business value.
- Champion best practices—including modular design, version control, automated testing, and security considerations—to foster a culture of quality and efficiency.
- Partner with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to implement monitoring, alerting, and automation for platform reliability, scalability, and cost‑efficiency.
Requirements / Skills
Deep functional understanding of finance processes : Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Reconciliation, FP&A, Governance, and compliance.Strong experience with at least one ERP finance platform (Workday Financials, Oracle, SAP, etc.).Ability to translate finance requirements into scalable technology solutions using Data Lake and Cloud Computing stacks.Operational excellence : knowledge of SRE concepts such as SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident response tools.Experience
12+ years of product / platform engineering experience designing and building finance‑critical applications.5+ years of experience leading and mentoring technical teams.Proven track record of partnering with product and business orgs to prioritize and deliver business value.Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.Experience with Agile execution frameworks.Prior experience implementing Workday Financials is a plus.Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
