Senior Facilities Grounds Worker - Utility

Job Title

Under general supervision of designated supervisor, lead, assign and perform work independently or as part of a crew, related to moving, events and requiring the operation of large trucks and equipment.

UNH Facilities is a 24 / 7 / 365 operation, and this position has responsibilities related to campus safety, emergency response, event support and wintertime snow operations. Due to the nature of our business, employees may be asked to flex schedules and / or respond to requests outside of normal hours in order to meet the demands of the University. This may include early morning, evenings, weekends and holiday work as needed.

Job Duties

Moves, event support, and customer service :

• Respond to work orders and requests related to moves and / or event set-ups. Assist in the campus wide moving of supplies, furniture, records, and / or entire departments.
• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to requests in a timely manner, communicating status to the customer, and following up when the move / event is complete.
• Using the work management software, maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time expended.

Project work and / or general grounds work : Perform campus project work assigned to the Grounds and Events department, to include but not limited to :

Winter snow operations : Participate in the planning, scheduling, and performance of winter snow removal / plowing.

Leadership and mentorship to the Facilities division : Participate, support, and demonstrate Facilities Forward concepts and contribute to a positive work culture.

Safety and training : Follow all safety practices / policies / procedures, techniques and precautions in performance of duties.
