Job description

Technical Manager

We are seeking a highly capable and driven Technical Manager to lead and oversee technical operations, engineering project management, and business development activities. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in water technology and equipment, and a strong ability to manage projects from design through execution. The ideal candidate has a balanced understanding of both technology development and business operations, with a preference for individuals experienced in engineering equipment commercialization.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead project planning, execution, and delivery for water evaporation and treatment systems
  • Manage engineering teams and contractors, ensuring technical quality, schedule adherence, and budget control
  • Oversee equipment deployment, commissioning, and field optimization activities
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on commercialization pathways, including pilot testing and market validation
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, SOPs, and technical reports
  • Provide technical input and strategy for new product development and R&D initiatives
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal writing, client engagement, and technical sales
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance product performance
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies and partners to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, environmental, or chemical preferred) ; advanced degree an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in water treatment, environmental engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in project management and engineering team leadership
  • Familiarity with water evaporation technologies, water reuse, and / or produced water treatment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business strategies
  • Experience with commercialization, prototyping, and product development cycles is an asset
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel between Bakersfield, Antioch and any future customer sites as needed
