Job Summary & Description :

Empowered Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team.

In this role, you will build meaningful relationships that inspire confidence, promote independence, and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living fulfilling, joyful lives.

As a DSP, you will work one-on-one with each customer to understand their unique needs, support them in achieving their goals, and provide care in a positive, encouraging, and safe environment. Our DSPs serve not only as caregivers but also as mentors, advocates, and trusted companions for the individuals we support.

290 : We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide after-school support for a fun and engaging young child who loves spending time outside, exploring textures, and playing with light-up toys. She enjoys being held, looking at faces, and benefits from having at least an hour outdoors each dayespecially walks and trips to the park.

This energetic little one has a silly, playful personality and a laugh that brings joy to everyone around her. She thrives with positive attention, playful engagement, and a calm, supportive environment.

The ideal provider will be patient, flexible, and attentive, with the ability to respond to her needs in the moment, even when shes unable to communicate them directly. She is working on developing independence in her communication and mobility, as well as building connections with her peers. At times, she can struggle with emotional regulation and may escalate by screaming loudly, so its important to remain calm and help her self-regulate, often by providing a quiet space.

This position will focus primarily on in-home care with very limited community outings. Responsibilities include engaging her in fun activities, assisting with dinner, and supporting her bedtime routine.

Schedule : 2 to 3 days a week (flexible) 3 : 30 pm to 7 : 00 pm.

Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Experience with the I / DD community is preferred but not required.
  • Must pass a background check. -
  • Not all charges will warrant a disqualification.
  • Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid drivers license, with a good driving record.
  • Musthave your own reliable vehicle, with full coverage auto insurance.
  • Must be comfortable providing respectful support with personal care, including bathroom and hygiene.

Compensation and Benefits :

  • Starting pay ranges from $23$25 per hour, depending on a variety of factors, including experience, certifications, and skills.
