Job description

Job Title : Chiller Technician – Commercial HVAC

Location : Charlottesville, VA

Pay : $50 / hr

🔧 About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chiller Technician to join our dynamic HVAC team in Charlottesville, VA . This role is ideal for a career-oriented technician with deep technical knowledge of chilled water systems , boilers , and complex HVAC equipment , who is ready to lead and mentor others while delivering top-tier service to our commercial clients.

🛠️ What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain centrifugal chillers , reciprocating , absorption , and screw chillers , as well as associated pneumatic and electrical control systems .
  • Service medium to large HVAC systems , including rooftop units , DX systems , boilers , and related mechanical systems.
  • Accurately diagnose system failures, test components using appropriate instrumentation, and perform necessary disassembly and reassembly.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and technical guidance to HVAC technicians and apprentices in the field.
  • Maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and customer service across all projects.

✅ What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician with specialized expertise in chilled water systems .
  • Hands-on experience with boilers and their control systems.
  • Strong skills in diagnosing and repairing complex commercial HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings , equipment specs, and job conditions.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor apprentices and junior techs.
  • EPA Universal Certification (required).
  • Journeyman or Master HVAC License (preferred but not required).
  • Solid understanding of OSHA safety regulations .
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
