POSITION SUMMARY :

The Facilities Manager position is in charge of planning and coordinating all building installations and refurbishments. Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet production efficiency, health and safety standards, Inspect building’s structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations. Develop and facilitate production process improvements with other members of the production staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Plan and coordinate all installations (machinery, equipment, HVAC, electrical, etc.) and refurbishments.
• Responsible for the maintenance of equipment throughout the shop.
• Responsible for creating maintenance schedules, if one does not exist, and monitors existing schedules to determine the intervals in which maintenance should be scheduled.
• Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
• Works with the Shop managers to ensure all PPE equipment is available to protect workers from hazards associated with their work.
• Maintain supplies for PPE and First Aid materials.
• Responsible for obtaining a basic understanding of the regulations dictated by the various regulatory agencies the company must comply with. Agencies such as, Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, OSHA, WISHA, and the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries and more.
• Accountable for helping create and maintain in house systems geared toward compliance with all agency regulations.
• Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
• Supervise janitor and external contractors.
• Control activities such as parking spaces, waste disposal, building security, etc.
• Handle insurance plans and service contracts.
• Identify and help lead the implementation of production process improvements.
• Partner with Shop Managers and HR to maintain Safety compliance. This will include facilitating safety committee meetings, helping HR enforce safety protocols, and facilitating / managing trainings.
• Manage the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) binder. This includes reviewing it, at a minimum, quarterly to ensure it stays up to date.
• Works with the Production Manager to control and minimize the expense for tools that are not used frequently and should be shared. This includes a system to securely store, checkout and log the individuals taking control of the shared assets. If feasible, this system may also be used to issue consumables to the shop staff to better control consumable costs.
